Spencer Torkelson swung at the first pitch of the ninth and hit it 109.8 mph to left-center, and Milwaukee never batted again. Jahmai Jones had tied it in the eighth with a 111.7 mph home run, and Torkelson's swing an inning later finished what Jones started. Milwaukee had taken the lead in the seventh on Blake Perkins's two-run double — a 97.1 mph fastball lined to left — and David Hamilton's RBI single. Tarik Skubal struck out five in six innings, delivered 71 strikes on 94 pitches, and did not walk a batter. He left with a 3-1 lead and took no part in the decision. Brant Hurter retired two hitters and earned the win.
