Brady House tied it in the eighth with his third home run, a fly to right center, and the tie lasted until Sam Antonacci — who had doubled for the first time this season two innings earlier and been stranded at second — lifted a sacrifice fly to left that scored Miguel Vargas and put Chicago ahead for good. The number that buried Washington was 4: four walks from Riley Cornelio across two innings, 42 pitches for six outs. Erick Fedde left after five and two-thirds having thrown 91 pitches, trailing, and never figured in the decision.
