Abrams had already driven in the game's first run on an 80.7 mph curveball at 1-2 in the third, and when he came up in the eighth he hit his eighth homer of the year to right center, scoring Daylen Lile and turning a 4-3 deficit into the final. Mitchell Parker got the win for three innings of one-run relief after Miles Mikolas lasted only four. Freddy Peralta gave the Mets six innings and deserved better — three runs crossed, but only one was earned. Gus Varland needed 22 pitches for the save, and the last out was a strikeout.
