Luis Castillo threw 101 pitches in six innings and the Royals made him work for every out. The fourth inning decided it: Carter Jensen walked with the bases loaded on a 3-2 fastball to force in a run, Jac Caglianone grounded into a forceout that scored another, and Isaac Collins — after a challenge overturned the call — scored on a sacrifice fly. Bubic went seven, gave up four hits, struck out seven, and the one run he allowed came on Josh Naylor's groundout in the third. Collins doubled again in the sixth on a 107.8 mph line drive. Daniel Lynch IV got the last four outs without allowing a baserunner.
