Jack Leiter threw 100 pitches, struck out ten, and left with two outs in the seventh having allowed five earned. The margin was one run until Spencer Torkelson turned an 0-2 slider into a two-run homer in the fifth. Detroit added four in the seventh on a soft grounder, a deflected single, another single, and Matt Vierling's double. Texas managed one run on seven hits and left eight on. Leiter struck out the side in the fourth. Brant Hurter gave the Tigers three and a third innings of two-hit relief and did not allow a run.
