Andrew Kittredge came on for the ninth with the game tied and gave up the hit that ended it — one run, unearned, on two-thirds of an inning. The Orioles' error earlier in the game had set the table. Liam Hicks's two-run homer in the first, his ninth of the year on an 88.3 mph slider, gave Miami its first lead, and the Marlins spent the rest of the night trying to hold it. Henderson and Norby tied it with RBI singles in the third. O'Neill put Baltimore ahead in the fourth. Alonso tied it again in the eighth with a single to center. Calvin Faucher got the win with a clean ninth, and Kittredge took the loss.
