Civale walked three but gave up no runs on six hits over five innings, and Brent Rooker's three-run homer to right in the third — on an 88.6 mph cutter — was the swing that decided it. Shane Baz needed 100 pitches to record fourteen outs and left trailing 5-0. Shea Langeliers drove in the first run on a first-inning single and added a sacrifice fly in the fifth. Colton Cowser's two-run single in the eighth came with the Athletics already ahead by five, and Colby Thomas tacked on another in the ninth.
