Yesavage gave Toronto six innings of two-hit baseball and struck out eight, and the reward for that work was a 3-2 count in the seventh with the bases loaded and the game still scoreless. Giménez took the sinker inside for ball four, Clement crossed, and whatever Schlittler had built over 106 pitches was gone. The Yankees managed five hits all night, left five on, and Goldschmidt's ninth-inning grounder scored one but not two.
