Joc Pederson's three-run homer capped a seven-run first inning against Jason Alexander, who threw 100 pitches across six innings and gave up nine earned runs. Evan Carter tripled and homered for Texas, and Jake Burger's two-run single started the barrage. Yordan Alvarez hit two home runs — a three-run shot in the third traveling 449 feet at 112.2 mph, and a solo blast in the eighth — but the Astros never got closer than three runs behind. Jack Leiter threw six innings, allowed four earned, and got the win, and Jacob Latz recorded the final four outs for the save.
