Casey Mize threw four innings of two-hit ball, Drew Anderson followed with three perfect innings — no hits, no walks, three strikeouts — and the Angels did not score against either of them. Spencer Torkelson's home run in the second came on a 98.7 mph fastball and gave Detroit a lead it never tested. José Soriano walked four in five innings and took the loss, and the Angels committed one error when Jo Adell's throw on Riley Greene's RBI single in the fifth let a runner advance. Los Angeles left four on base and managed two hits for the game.
