The primer scores a full inning from scratch. Every pitch under these marks is typed, clocked and located off the same official feed. A hand-scorer could record what happened; nobody could record the pitch that did it.

Nootbaar's ball left at 109.9 mph and traveled 433 feet to right center, and it came off Sam Moll, who gave up two runs in one inning and took the loss. Matthew Liberatore gave up five runs — three earned — in four and a third, and Nick Lodolo gave up ten hits in five. Jordan Walker's sixteenth of the year went to right center in the fifth. Riley O'Brien allowed two hits in the ninth and still got the save.
