The Orioles scored four in the fifth — a home run, a double, another home run — and the lead lasted one inning. Shane Baz left with two outs in the sixth and five runs charged to him, only one earned, and by the time Yennier Cano got the third out Toronto had the lead for good. Kevin Gausman gave up four earned in five innings and still got the win because his lineup scored six. Kazuma Okamoto's RBI single in the sixth cut the deficit to one, and Andrés Giménez's double followed to tie it.
