Luis Castillo allowed five runs, only two of them earned, and the Mariners' defense put him in a hole before the first out. Washington scored three times in the first — a single, a triple, and another single — and when Colt Emerson's two-run homer tied it in the fifth, Luis García Jr. answered two batters later with a two-run shot of his own. José A. Ferrer gave up three earned runs in one-third of an inning, and the García home run was the blow. Seattle left eight on base and committed two errors. Cade Cavalli gave up three earned in five innings and struck out five for the win.

2‑4 a runner retired on the bases (caught stealing, picked off), written small in his box as the chain that got him

A ABS (Automated Ball‑Strike) challenge — filled = overturned
The diamond fills teal when the run scores; the out lands in the box of the runner it was made on. Names link to their pages at www.feverbaseball.com. New to the marks? The primer scores a full inning from scratch. Every pitch under these marks is typed, clocked and located off the same official feed. A hand-scorer could record what happened; nobody could record the pitch that did it.
