José Soriano did not allow a run in five innings and the Angels had already scored six by the time Tampa Bay's offense managed a threat. The sixth inning broke it open: Denzer Guzman lined a 94 mph fastball into center for a two-run single, and Donovan Walton followed with a double that scored Guzman. Craig Kimbrel and Garrett Cleavinger combined to give up three runs in the inning. Guzman finished with three RBI on two singles, and Cole Sulser surrendered four earned runs in two-thirds of an inning for the Rays. Tampa Bay collected five hits, left eight on base, and was shut out.
