Eight innings of zeros, and then the ninth happened. Eduardo Rodriguez gave Arizona 6.2 innings of three-hit, no-run ball. Kyle Leahy matched him — 6.1 innings, three hits, no runs. Then Matt Svanson gave up four runs in a third of an inning and took the loss. Nolan Arenado's double started it, Lourdes Gurriel's two-run single on a 3-2 cutter put Arizona ahead, and the Cardinals answered with three of their own before Brandyn Garcia got the last out.
