Carlos Rodón lasted 5.1 innings and handed a tie to a bullpen that didn't allow a hit the rest of the way. Jazz Chisholm's two-run homer in the sixth — on a 3-2 slider at 87.3 mph, 403 feet — was the swing that put New York ahead for good. Austin Wells doubled in the same inning, his second of the season, driving in what held up as the winning run. David Bednar got the last four outs without allowing a baserunner. Detroit managed three runs on eight hits and never tied it after the sixth.
