Mack's inside-the-parker in the seventh was a sharp fly ball to right-center, the sixth home run of his year and the one that never left the field. The lead had already moved three times by then: Colorado in the first on Mickey Moniak's homer, Miami in the fourth on Javier Sanoja's two-run triple, Colorado back in the fifth when Moniak tripled for two and Hunter Goodman followed with a two-run shot. Max Meyer took the loss despite six innings and five strikeouts, undone by the fifth inning, when four runs crossed on a triple and a home run. Kyle Freeland got the win with five innings of six-hit, two-run ball.
