Salvador Perez's 437-foot home run, at 108.7 mph off the bat, was the swing that put the Royals ahead for good. Sam Hentges faced three hitters, gave up two hits and two runs, and took the loss. Casey Schmitt's 20th homer in the ninth brought San Francisco within one, and Steven Cruz needed ten pitches to finish it.
