Seth Lugo threw seven innings of three-run ball and got the win because Kansas City scored five times in the bottom of the seventh. Salvador Perez's 437-foot home run, at 108.7 mph off the bat, was the swing that put the Royals ahead for good. Sam Hentges faced three hitters, gave up two hits and two runs, and took the loss. Casey Schmitt's 20th homer in the ninth brought San Francisco within one, and Steven Cruz needed ten pitches to finish it.
