Locklear entered the night with no home runs on the season. He left with one — a two-run shot in the fourth at 111.5 mph, the hardest contact of the game — and a run-scoring single in the eighth. The homer turned a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 lead Arizona never gave back. St. Louis pushed twice, once on Nolan Arenado's RBI single in the eighth and again when Ryan Thompson gave up four runs in the ninth, but sixteen hits and ten runs had already built the margin. Brandon Pfaadt got the win with six innings of two-run ball. Locklear also doubled for the first time this year. Sometimes the first one loosens everything after it.
