Texas managed two hits all night and still led after five, which is what nine men left on base will buy you. Cedric Mullins hit a fly ball to left in the eighth off Ben Peoples, and that was the last lead change — one run, one swing, the whole margin. The Rangers walked twice in the ninth and put the tying run on second, and Bryan Baker threw 30 pitches to get through the inning, striking out the last two he faced. Jonny DeLuca's sixth-inning home run was the only ball Tampa Bay put in the seats.
