Ozzie Albies put Atlanta ahead in the second on an 0-0 slider, and from there the pitching made it hold. Holmes gave up five hits and walked one over six innings, and every baserunner was stranded. Riley's two-run shot in the seventh came on a 1-1 curveball at 79.6 mph and traveled 433 feet, and it was the hit that made the lead survive the ninth. Raisel Iglesias came on for the ninth and gave up two runs on three hits, and Leo Jiménez's single brought the tying run to the plate before the last out. Ryan Gusto pitched six innings for Miami, gave up one run, and took the loss, because the other pitcher gave up none.
