Mitch Bratt threw seven innings of one-hit baseball and struck out nine, and Casey Mize left with eight earned before the fourth inning was over. Arizona scored seven in that frame — two sacrifice flies, two singles, a walk, and Ildemaro Vargas's two-run double. Vargas drove in four on the night from that double and a triple in the eighth. Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a baseball 114.7 mph off the bat, 465 feet, the hardest contact anyone made all night. It was a home run in a game his club lost by six.
