Charles McAdoo's first double of the season came in the seventh inning, a 93.2 mph fastball at 2-1 driven 406 feet to center, scoring Ernie Clement to put Toronto ahead. An inning later he singled in another run on a 3-2 sinker. Cam Schlittler gave the Yankees 5.1 innings of one-run ball with seven strikeouts, and it came to nothing. The Yankees collected four hits and left three on base. Louis Varland struck out the side in the ninth. Toronto left twelve men on base and still won by three. McAdoo drove in two of the four runs the Blue Jays scored.
