Alvarez doubled twice and drove in two runs, his hardest leaving the bat at 113.2 mph. Wesneski's 91 pitches covered five innings — three walks, four strikeouts, one hit — and Ginn took the loss with five innings of three-run ball. The Athletics left eight on base and managed three hits. Four Houston relievers covered the last four innings and gave up two.
