Three extra-base hits off Henderson's bat — a solo shot in the 1st, a three-run homer in the 5th off a 1-0 slider, and his fifth triple of the year in the 8th. The lead changed three times in the first five innings before Henderson's 5th-inning swing put Baltimore ahead for good, and Mayo's three-run blast in the 4th, a line drive to left-center, had set it up. Springs gave up seven earned on six hits in 4.2 innings, and the Orioles left one runner on base all night.
