Jack Perkins walked five and struck out seven in three innings — a starter who kept missing bats but could not locate the zone. Lawrence Butler's two-run single in the fifth, 109.6 mph off the bat, gave the Athletics the lead for good. Seattle stranded 14 runners on nine hits, reaching all night without the hit that brought them home. Hogan Harris struck out two in the ninth for the save.
