José Urquidy gave the Phillies 4.2 innings of no-run relief — six strikeouts, no walks, 47 of 64 pitches for strikes — but the deficit he inherited was already three, and the arms around him could not keep it small. Tim Mayza got one out and gave up three runs, and Kerkering gave up three more in his inning. Soto's twenty-sixth left the bat at 109.4 mph and traveled 428 feet with Marcus Semien and Luis Torrens aboard. The Phillies got within a run on Sosa's eighth in the sixth, and Soto answered in the same frame to make it 6-2, and Philadelphia scored once more the rest of the way.
