Four errors and thirteen men left on base is what the Cardinals' line says, and it took eleven innings and nine pitchers to confirm that a team cannot kick and strand its way to a win. José Tena's two-run double in the eleventh was the swing that settled it, but the inning turned on Jacob Young's catcher interference — Leo Bernal's glove on the bat, a challenge Washington won, a run scoring on the call. Gordon Graceffo took the loss in the eleventh: two hits, two walks, four runs, and a tie game that became a three-run deficit before he recorded his third out. Jordan Walker hit the hardest ball of the night at 112.1 mph off the bat, 407 feet, and it ended as a lineout in the sixth.
