Troy Melton threw 83 pitches in three and two-thirds innings, walked three, and left trailing 4-0. Sam Antonacci's two-run double in the 4th was the blow that opened it, and Davis Martin gave Detroit four and a third of nothing — two hits, no runs, six strikeouts. Chase Meidroth's two-run homer in the 5th, his 15th, made it 6-0. Detroit's only run came in the 8th on Max Clark's sacrifice fly; they stranded ten.
