Brett Baty's grand slam traveled 455 feet at 110.2 off the bat, and it turned a one-run game into a rout in the span of four batters. Until the ninth, this was Nolan McLean's night: seven innings, 82 pitches, three hits, two runs, five strikeouts. Juan Soto's two-run homer in the third, his twenty-seventh, had been the only offense. Marcus Semien's homer in the eighth tied it for Texas. Then Jacob Latz gave up the go-ahead run, Jordan Montgomery allowed two more, and Trevor Williams faced two men and gave up hits to both — the second being Baty's slam. Texas had four hits. The Mets had eight.
