Carlos Jorge led off with his first major league home run, a fly ball to right on a 92.9 mph fastball, and the lead changed five times after that. The Braves scored four in the first, the Reds came back to tie it at five, and Atlanta went ahead in the fifth before Cincinnati took it for good with two runs in the sixth. Elly De La Cruz hit his 30th home run in the third at 108 mph, 402 feet. Atlanta left 10 on base.
