Detmers gave up two hits and no runs over six innings, struck out seven, and left with a 5-0 lead. The inning that broke it was the 6th — Christian Moore's 2nd homer of the year, a 3-run shot to left center on an 0-2 fastball at 96.7 mph. Seattle did not score until the 8th, when Julio Rodríguez was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Michael Arroyo followed with an RBI single. Dominic Canzone hit a 2-run homer in the 9th, his 23rd, but the deficit was six and the tying run never came to the plate.
