Walker Buehler and Landen Roupp matched zeroes for two innings before Harrison Bader's home run broke through in the third — a 107.3 mph fly ball that traveled 408 feet. The Giants added two more in the fourth on singles by Patrick Bailey and Casey Schmitt, both runs set up by Buehler's walks. Roupp struck out seven in six innings and allowed two hits. Ryan Walker took the ninth with a 3-0 lead and gave up a two-run homer to Jackson Merrill on a 3-2 slider. Walker walked the next hitter and struck out the last one. Buehler threw 72 pitches in four innings for the loss.
