Ben Rice's three-run homer in the first gave New York a lead they carried into the eighth, when Miami scored four times. Jake Bird faced three hitters and let all of them reach — Graham Pauley's two-run double and Xavier Edwards' two-run single among them, making it a four-run Marlins lead. Max Fried went 6.2 innings with four strikeouts. Chris Paddack held the line in relief — 4.2 innings, one unearned run — and John King got the win for a third of an inning. Giancarlo Stanton's 116.3 mph single in the seventh was the hardest ball hit all night. Anthony Bender walked three in the ninth, gave up two, and still recorded the save.

The diamond fills teal when the run scores; the out lands in the box of the runner it was made on. Names link to their pages at www.feverbaseball.com. New to the marks? The primer scores a full inning from scratch. Every pitch under these marks is typed, clocked and located off the same official feed. A hand-scorer could record what happened; nobody could record the pitch that did it.
