Mickey Moniak had no home runs this season when he stepped in against Taijuan Walker in the first, and by the fifth he had two — both on 1-2 counts, both to the right-field side, the second at 108.7 miles per hour off the bat. Walker lasted five innings on 87 pitches and took the loss. Tomoyuki Sugano went six on 78 pitches and gave up one run, and the three relievers behind him held Philadelphia to two hits over three scoreless innings. The Phillies left seven on base and never brought the tying run to the plate.
