Shane Drohan could not find the plate — four walks in 2.2 innings, 63 pitches, and the Red Sox made every free pass count. The third inning brought a walk, a single, and a sacrifice fly, three runs on a night Gray did not need that many. Gray went 6.1 innings, allowed three hits, struck out two, and the Brewers never got a runner home. Milwaukee left seven on base and spent the late innings watching Boston's bullpen work clean frame after clean frame.
