Kyle Schwarber's three-run homer in the 3rd — 110.7 mph off the bat, 381 feet — turned a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 lead, and Bryce Harper followed with a solo shot to center. Two swings in one inning, and the Phillies never trailed again. Ketel Marte's solo homer in the 1st had opened the scoring for Arizona, and Adrian Del Castillo's RBI single made it 2-0 before Philadelphia batted. Brandon Pfaadt gave up four runs, three earned, over six innings. José Fernandez's RBI single in the 8th brought Arizona within one, but Jhoan Duran needed 12 pitches to close the 9th.
