Willson Contreras homered in the first on a 94.6 mph sinker, his third of the year, and drove in another run with a single in the fourth. Jarren Duran's three-run double in the fourth left at 112.3 mph — the hardest contact of the night — and it came on an 87.7 mph slider with two strikes. Andre Pallante gave up nine hits and six earned runs in five innings, and Jordan Walker's home run in the second was 112.2 mph off the bat on an 86.7 mph cutter. Brayan Bello struck out two and walked two over six and two-thirds, and the two runs he allowed were all St. Louis could manage off him. Trevor Story doubled in two in the ninth, his third of the year, and Alec Burleson's eighth-inning homer was the last run St. Louis scored.
