Brayan Bello needed 85 pitches to record ten outs, and thirteen hits came off him before he left in the fourth. Three home runs left in the first — Henderson on an 0-1 cutter, Rutschman with two on, Beavers solo — and the thing about Rutschman's night is that both his home runs scored Taylor Ward, the second coming in the fourth to make it 8-1. Bello threw 54 strikes and still gave up thirteen hits, with zero errors and one walk behind him — nothing to blame but the baseball finding seats and grass. Brandon Young gave Baltimore 5.2 innings of three-run ball, and the three relievers behind him kept Boston off the board the rest of the way. A club that collected twenty hits and left ten on base still won by seven.
