Esteury Ruiz hit his first home run of the season in the fifth, a 95 mph fastball to left field, and it held up as the difference. Sandy Alcantara gave Miami six innings of two-run ball, and three relievers covered the rest — though Calvin Faucher's save came with three walks in the ninth, the kind of line that keeps a one-run lead breathing. Javier Sanoja's single in the eighth scored Xavier Edwards for the go-ahead run, a pop up that found grass. Tyler Glasnow struck out nine and walked six in 5.2 innings, and the Marlins scored twice while he was out there.
