Four runs in the first inning for Kansas City — three of them on a Salvador Perez double that left at 109.8 mph — and still it came down to the last at-bat. Seattle answered with two in the bottom of the first on Julio Rodríguez's home run, and the game never settled. Both teams scored in the sixth: Vinnie Pasquantino and Jac Caglianone went back-to-back for Kansas City, Randy Arozarena matched it for Seattle. José A. Ferrer took the loss, one run in the eighth on three hits. Lucas Erceg closed it, twelve pitches, one strikeout. Cole Ragans went 5.1 and left with the lead, and Daniel Lynch IV gave it back before Matt Strahm restored order. Connor Joe hit his first home run of the season in the fifth. It was that kind of night — everyone joining in.
