Mark Vientos homered in the second and doubled in the tenth, and both hits drove in the runs that separated these clubs. Ryne Nelson matched Nolan McLean nearly inning for inning — each went deep and allowed one earned run — but Kevin Ginkel entered in the tenth and gave up two doubles in a third of an inning. Carson Benge's ground-rule double on an 84.7 mph slider plated the insurance run. Arizona left seven on base and did not score after the second.
