Kyle Schwarber homered in the first on a 93.8 mph fastball and again in the second on an 0-0 splitter — two innings, two homers, his fifteenth and sixteenth of the year. Bryce Harper followed the first one with his tenth, and by the time the second inning ended the Phillies had four runs and Cristopher Sánchez had all the room he needed. Sánchez threw 103 pitches over seven innings, gave up six hits, walked nobody, struck out seven. Colorado managed six hits and left six on base, and Tomoyuki Sugano took the loss with five earned in five innings against a lineup that did not stop swinging.
