Stephen Kolek threw 61 strikes in 82 pitches across 6.1 innings and the Cardinals could not score — four hits, one walk, seven men left on base in a shutout. Salvador Perez drove in both runs, a sacrifice fly in the first and a home run in the fourth on a 77.0 mph knuckle curve. Andre Pallante matched Kolek for six innings and lost because of one unearned run. The hardest ball anyone hit all night was Jordan Walker's groundout at 112.8 mph, and it became an out at first. Lucas Erceg walked one in the ninth but closed it without a hit.
