The diamond fills teal when the run scores; the out lands in the box of the runner it was made on. Names link to their pages at www.feverbaseball.com. New to the marks? The primer scores a full inning from scratch. Every pitch under these marks is typed, clocked and located off the same official feed. A hand-scorer could record what happened; nobody could record the pitch that did it.

Christian Vázquez homered in the third on a 78.8 mph sweeper and drove in another run in the fourth on a line single to right, and that was most of what Houston needed. Spencer Arrighetti walked four but gave up two hits over five shutout innings, and the Cubs left 11 on base — which is the shape of a night where the opportunities were there and the swings were not. Pete Crow-Armstrong's two-run homer in the sixth cut it to 4-2, and Bryan King retired all four he faced for the save. Chicago had four hits, which is barely enough to score two, and not nearly enough to score three.
