Two Christian Walker home runs to left center — one in the first with Yordan Alvarez on base, one in the fourth — accounted for every run. Kai-Wei Teng gave up two hits over six innings with six strikeouts and three walks, and the Cubs managed three hits all night. Colin Rea gave Chicago seven innings with three earned runs, three walks, and four strikeouts. The Cubs drew three walks, collected three hits, and none of them came around.
