Eight earned runs came off Brayan Bello in five innings, 108 pitches worth of trouble. Coby Mayo's three-run double in the first — a fly ball to left on an 0-2 sweeper — was the swing that opened the scoring, and Taylor Ward's single followed. Samuel Basallo's double in the fifth left the bat at 112.4 mph. Trevor Rogers went five and two-thirds, allowed one run, and turned it over with a lead the bullpen did not need to protect. Willson Contreras added his twelfth home run in the ninth to close the scoring.
