Eli White drove in the first run and scored the second, and the Braves got the pitching they needed to make it stand. White doubled in Matt Olson in the second on a 3-1 sinker and hit his third home run of the year in the fourth on an 84.2 mph cutter. Sean Manaea gave up two earned in six innings and struck out six for New York, and the pitch that decided it — Michael Harris II's solo homer in the eighth, 392 feet off an 0-2 curveball — came off Austin Warren. Mark Vientos's RBI single in the sixth had cut the lead to one. Raisel Iglesias walked one in the ninth and closed it.
