Michael McGreevy handed St. Louis a lead with six innings of two-run ball, and JoJo Romero gave it back in the seventh — two singles and a walk in a third of an inning. JJ Wetherholt did everything he could: a two-run homer in the sixth, his 10th, on a 95.7 mph fastball, and an RBI single in the seventh that put the Cardinals back in front. Royce Lewis answered with a run-scoring single, and Kreidler's double to center in the eighth — his third of the year — scored Keaschall. Andrew Morris struck out three in a perfect eighth to get the win. Minnesota left nine on base and won by one. Wetherholt drove in three, and the Cardinals came up a run short.
